GoodShift Co. is a boutique digital change management consultancy (under Advaita Consulting Pty Ltd ABN 25 608 385 299) operating at goodshiftco.com. We engage with clients, prospective clients, and professional contacts across Australia and New Zealand.
This policy sets out how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information. It applies to our website, our marketing communications, and information we receive in the course of delivering services.
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Where we engage with Queensland public sector clients, we also observe the Information Privacy Act 2009 (Qld).

When you visit our website, we may collect:

This data is collected through analytics tools (currently Squarespace Analytics) and is used in aggregate to understand how the site is used. It is not linked to identifiable individuals
Email marketing subscribers
If you subscribe to our mailing list (Shift Happens newsletter and related communications), we collect:

Email address
Phone number
Organisation and role (if provided)
Engagement data: opens, clicks, and unsubscribes

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined under the Privacy Act) through our website or marketing channels. Where sensitive information is shared in the context of a client engagement, it is handled under the terms of that engagement and our Information Security and Privacy Policy.

We will action your request within five business days. We do not send marketing emails to people who have not opted in. Where we reach out to prospective clients directly, we do so on the basis of a reasonable expectation of professional interest in our services, consistent with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
We do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
Disclosure of personal information
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose personal information to::

Where we engage associates to support a client engagement, they are bound by the same confidentiality obligations as our employees. We do not disclose client information to third parties without the client's written consent, except where required by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the tools we use to operate our business are hosted overseas, including Wix (Israel, with servers in the United States and European Union). Where we disclose personal information to overseas recipients, we take reasonable steps to ensure they handle it consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
By subscribing to our mailing list or submitting an enquiry, you consent to your information being held by our service providers in jurisdictions outside Australia.
How we store and protect your information
GoodShift Co. stores information using Microsoft 365 (hosted in Australian data centres) and Wix Email Marketing. Access to stored information is restricted to authorised personnel.
We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access or disclosure.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take our obligations seriously and address incidents promptly.
Retention
We retain personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law. Marketing subscriber data is retained for as long as you remain subscribed. Once you have been unsubscribed, your data is suppressed from future sends. You may request deletion of your record at any time. Client contact information is retained for the duration of a professional relationship and for a reasonable period thereafter for reference and record-keeping purposes.
Access and correction
You have the right to request access to personal information we hold about you, and to request correction if it is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date.
To make a request, contact us at hello@goodshiftco.com. We will respond within 30 days. In some circumstances we may decline access where permitted under the Privacy Act; if so, we will explain why.
We do not charge for access requests.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us at hello@goodshiftco.com. We will acknowledge your complaint within five business days and work to resolve it within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
